American Airlines cancels nonstop route from Austin airport AUSTIN (KXAN) — American Airlines has canceled a nonstop route between Austin and St. Louis as part of network evaluations.The airline last operated flights on the seasonal route in May, but a spokesperson confirmed to KXAN it would not be resuming flights after the seasonal break."As part of a continuous evaluation of our network, American has made the difficult decision to end service between Austin and St. Louis," the spokesperson said. Police: Man exposes himself to to child at city rec center, mother concerned about sharing space with cooling centers AUSTIN (KXAN) — A mother is speaking out after she says a man exposed himself to her 6-year-old daughter at an Austin Recreation Center."My daughter was like 'Dad I saw his thing,'" said the mother who wished to keep her identity anonymous.KXAN reached out to the City of Austin's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Department, as well as Parks and Recreation Department and APD for more information.The incident took place on September 5 at 5:20 p.m., according to the Austin Police Department."Parks and Recreation Department staff observed a man enter Hancock Recreation Center. Staff noticed the man's shorts were lowered and his genitalia was exposed. Staff immediately escorted all program participants from the facility and called 9-1-1. Man admits to murder at north St. Louis gas station ST. LOUIS - Nearly two years after a deadly gas station shooting in north St. Louis, a man has admitted to criminal charges. Ernest Dupree, 39, pleaded guilty Friday to several felonies in connection with the shooting death of Clifton Southern in November 2021. That includes charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and motor vehicle tampering. New York company moving headquarters to St. Louis According to court documents obtained by FOX 2, Dupree shot Southern at a Shell gas station in the 2800 block of North Florissant Avenue in the Old North St. Louis neighborhood. Police say Southern was unarmed and asked Dupree not to shoot him while he was held at gunpoint. Dupree's pistol became jammed, and shot Southern several times, per court documents. Dupree avoided a trial by pleading guilty. He could be sentenced up to 17 years in prison based on his plea agreement. A sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 13.
