RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Cristiano Ronaldo helped Al-Nassr keep its Saudi Arabian title hopes alive by scoring the winning goal in a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Al-Shabab on Tuesday. If second-place Al-Nassr had lost the Riyadh derby then leader Al-Ittihad, which beat Al-Batin 1-0 earlier, would have been crowned champion with two games of the season remaining.Cristian Guanca scored twice for Al-Shabab before Anderson Talisca of Brazil pulled a goal back for Al-Nassr just before the break.Six minutes after the restart, the nine-time champions were level as Abdulrahman Ghareeb made it 2-2 from close range.Just before the hour, Ronaldo put Al-Nassr ahead in style, sprinting past two defenders to curl a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area. It was the Portugal star’s 14th goal since joining after the World Cup.“To be 2-0 down is very difficult but we believed until the end and scored three goals so congratulations to the team and the supporters who were amaz...Packers’ Eric Stokes walking again, but unsure when he can return from foot injury

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers cornerback Eric Stokes doesn’t know when he will be ready to return from the knee and foot injuries that ended his 2022 season prematurely.Stokes has found a way to remain upbeat amid the uncertainty. The 2021 first-round pick from Georgia had surgeries for each of his injuries, which took place in a 15-9 loss at Detroit last November. Stokes says he had a plate and two screws put into his foot. He used a wheelchair through the end of last season. So he appreciates every step he takes toward his eventual return.“I couldn’t walk until about mid-January, so that’s something new,” Stokes said Tuesday. “Getting back to running, getting back to moving around, getting back to break, cutting and all that stuff, finally putting on cleats for the first time since my injury last week, so it’s like small little goals that I got in mind that I keep approaching and keep checking off.”Stokes had never been through an injury anywhere near this serious. CONCORD — Entering Tuesday night’s game, Reading boys lacrosse coach Charlie Hardy wanted his group to send a message, one which would validate the impeccable spring the Rockets have enjoyed. Thanks to a complete team effort, they managed to do so by closing one of the greatest regular seasons in program history in impressive fashion. Mark Boyle and Cullen Granara each buried a pair of goals and tacked on an assist apiece, as Reading defeated a very tough Concord-Carlisle squad on the road, 9-3.“I think we moved the ball extremely well,” Hardy said. “We try to teach exactly what you just said – move the ball, get everybody involved. Find our matchups, and go from there. That’s exactly what happened. We found the matchups where we wanted them to be, people beat their matchup, and we scored.”Reading also was the beneficiary of a great performance from senior midfielder Ethan Haggerty (two goals). It didn’t take long for the Rockets (17-1) to establish the tempo, as Robbie Granara...Mets Notebook: Kodai Senga continues to get extra rest

CHICAGO — Kodai Senga is still on a schedule that allows for extra rest. The Mets are pretty content to keep him on one, at least for this early part of his rookie season.Senga will pitch the second game of a three-game set against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Wednesday. Seven days in between starts isn’t typical for pitchers in the Major Leagues but it’s typical for pitchers in Japan, and the Mets have been trying to mimic the schedule he was on throughout his 11 years in the Nippon Professional League. It doesn’t sound like this is going to change anytime soon.“We don’t know yet. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t know,” manager Buck Showalter said Tuesday at Wrigley Field. “Maybe it doesn’t happen at all. We’ll see how he responds. I hope that there is that possibility and we’re leaving that open, but right now he’s doing well with the way his rest is coming up. We’ll continue down that ...Texas Capitol jolted by investigation of attorney general, accusation House speaker was drunk on job
