A building block for doughnuts and more By Yewande Komolafe, The New York TimesAs a young pastry cook in the early 2000s, my 2 p.m. shift at the restaurant Tatin in Baltimore would begin with a list of doughs to prepare for the next morning.I would start with ciabatta, a wet, almost runny dough with a seemingly endless pull. New York’s high court orders new congressional maps By Anthony Izaguirre | Associated PressALBANY, N.Y. — New York’s highest court on Tuesday ordered the state to draw new congressional districts ahead of the 2024 elections, giving Democrats a potential advantage in what is expected to be a battleground for control of the U.S. House. The 4-3 decision from the New York Court of Appeals could have major ramifications as Democrats angle for more favorable district lines in the state next year. The season is young enough that Golden State has time to situate themselves nicely in the standings with a good string of wins. But three numbers from their 10-12 start show where they’ve fallen behind and how they haven’t fallen to NBA pits yet.1. -22This Warriors team is built on the presumption that the four-time champion core can fend off age and still beat the lot.
